Apprenticeships are work-based training programmes designed around the needs of employers, which lead to nationally recognised qualifications. You can use Apprenticeships within your business to train both new and existing employees. Funding is also available for training apprentices.
Apprenticeships are designed by the Sector Skills Council, whilst the National Apprenticeship Service helps to fund the training. Apprenticeships are a great way to give a young person real ‘on the job’ experience whilst helping you to grow your business and offering you the opportunity to mould a young person to meet your business needs.
The Plymouth 1000 Club Project can help you to support young people into employment, whether through work experience, apprenticeships, graduate internships or employment.
Find out more about the 1000 Club here.
Going green can be an exciting and cost effective challenge for businesses large or small. Plymouth’s low carbon economy has real potential and the Chamber’s Green Economy Hub is available to deliver that potential using the expertise and experience available in the city.
For more information on how the Green Economy Hub can help your business ‘go green’ or for further details of how you and your business can get involved in the hub please contact Jackie Young here.
The Plymouth International Trade Club was set up as a network for both inexperienced and experienced businesses looking to export to enable information sharing and networking within the local area.
Devon Chamber’s aim is to meet Lord Green’s challenge to double exports in the South West by 2020. Plymouth International Trade Club was set up by Devon Chamber of Commerce in conjunction with UKTI as a result of identifying the needs of local businesses through the Priority Sector Co-ordination work undertaken for Plymouth Growth Board.
The free to join club provides advice, opportunities to network with other exporting businesses and highlights upcoming export opportunities for local businesses. Find out more here.
Devon Chamber offers a wide range of networking opportunities across the year to help increase your sales and reduce costs by meeting new business contacts. Meet like-minded people and have the opportunity to talk to those with influence at our many and varied networking events.
