Help Influence Government Policy | 24.08.17

Each Quarter Devon Chamber of Commerce surveys its members and other interested businesses about the current local economy and the challenges businesses face. The results from Plymouth and Devon give a snapshot view about the state of the economy. The Devon figures are consolidated with the results collected by the other 51 accredited Chambers from across the UK and provide a national view. The results of the British Chambers of Commerce survey are eagerly awaited by decision makers including the Government and Bank of England. It is a key piece of evidence for them and other policy makers in making decisions that affect businesses and the economy. Devon Chamber would urge all businesses to compete the survey to help us represent the regions views on a national level. The survey can be accessed at

Additionally Devon Chamber is asking local businesses about the use of European labour. Anecdotally many businesses have stated how important it is to recruit workers from Eastern Europe, and Spain and Portugal. The ability to do this in the future will be affected by Brexit. The Chamber is anxious to hear what effect this restriction may have on local businesses. If you currently employ European labour or plan to do so in the future you need to complete the survey to give us the evidence to influence future Government Policy.
