This exclusive tour of Teignmouth port, with give members of Devon Chamber of Commerce the opportunity to explore behind the scenes of this vital link for local importers and exporters in Devon, and find out more about its history and operations.
Each year the Port of Teignmouth handles in the region of 400,000 tonnes of bulk cargo, supporting a wide network of local farmers and businesses. Making this the busiest Port in our county and coupled with its sister port of Plymouth, ABP’s ports in the Southwest contribute over £75 million to the region’s economy every year and support more than 1,113 local jobs.
With over £ 1million spent on modernising of the port facilities as well as the significant investment in navigation with the deepening of the channel to accommodate the newer build short sea ships. This is a great opportunity for our members to visit behind the wall, seeing one of the best facilities among short sea ports in the UK.
