David is an experienced entrepreneur with a background in finance, marketing and in delivering business growth.
He is now Group Managing Director and founder shareholder in The Una Group Ltd with companies spanning commercial property, business support services, technology and environmental services. They have recently built a 3.5 MW energy from waste plant in Plymouth with a series of larger projects in development and are shareholders in Burts Chips – the premium crisp manufacturer.
His business philosophy is – have fun, make some money and do some good!
He is passionate about his city’s success and sits on Plymouth Growth Board, (where he is on both the Economic Strategy sub group and Digital steering group), is Vice Chair of Devon Chamber of Commerce, an Independent Committee Member of Plymouth College of Art, an Advisory Board member for Common Purpose, a trustee of HeartSWell cardiac support charity & Chairman of the Springboard investment fund.
He was also delighted to Chair the group that helped deliver the Amercia’s Cup World Series sailing event in Plymouth in 2011. He is married with 4 sons, lives in Saltash and enjoys sailing, walking, cycling, squash and time with the family.
